Intro: How Compex was Born into this Complex World

Hello and welcome to the new COMPEX blog! The COMPEX blog unwires news about the latest development of wireless products and wireless technology. It delivers relevant, up-to-date news and information for you and me, partners and customers from the past, present, or future.

As a leading OEM in fostering innovative and sustainable design, Compex offers a gamut of products including wireless modules, host board, antenna, miniPCI, miniPCIe, indoor and outdoor mesh access points, enclosure, and full-packaged products. These are fully customized end-to-end wireless solutions to make your life less complicated.

To start off, here are tidbits of our history:

It all began in 1989 when Dr. Chen Mun, previously a senior lecturer at the then University of Singapore, founded Compex Systems in Singapore as a company wholly owned by Powermatic Systems Ltd (SGX Singapore). The name “Compex” was derived from the combination of the words “computer” and “excellence”, suggesting the pursuit of excellence in product design and manufacturing as well as delivery of OEM/ODM/JDM services in wireless communications.

Dedicated to innovative design for RF wireless module, host board, and antenna, Compex also provides software design, product testing and certification, fully customized design and manufacturing, as well as packaging and shipping. Compex wireless communications solution and services encompass both indoor and outdoor mesh network, hotspot, and subscriber units.

In 2002, Compex transferred the manufacturing to Suzhou, one of the most beautiful places in China. Situated in Suzhou Industrial Park, one hour away from Shanghai, the Suzhou factory provides easy access to engineering resources as well as a wider selection of components. In 2011, Compex further consolidated its base in China by shifting its principal operations to Suzhou and terminating the Changsu operations.

That’s all for a brief peek. There you go a platform for the employees, friends, and customers of Compex, as well as anyone who wants to keep abreast of the latest wireless technology.
